From a very young age, Gaby was closely related to music. When she was 7 years old, her mother discovered her daughter's talent for singing. So she Gaby received singing lessons with María Prado Bolaños. At the age of 10, she went on stage for the first time.
Gaby herself had a knack for the saxophone, however, she decided on the guitar. During her adolescence, she liked to sing Disney songs at festivals and since she was 10 years old she already opened concerts for artists like Ricky Martin or Magneto.
When he was 14 years old he traveled to New York, United States. On one occasion, he was walking with her family on the streets near Time Square, suddenly, for the first time, he heard an African-American woman singing the blues. That's how Gaby started listening to different artists.
Part of that musical discovery led the Guatemala to enjoy other rhythms such as jazz, soul and sixties rock. This gave the artist the inspiration to write her first songs and later perform them.
Later, at the age of 17, he went to Los Angeles, California, to sign a contract with Warner, but the company was sold and he was unable to record. However, on that occasion, Gaby took the opportunity to study at the Musicians Institute. Since then he lives in that city.
In 2012 one of her best-known musical successes was her collaboration with the Guatemala Ricardo Arjona. Both sang a duet of the song Fueste Tú, from the Independiente album, which was recorded in a video using various tourist sites in Guatemala as locations.
The following year, she became the first Guatemalan to win a Latin Grammy Award. The award was in the category for Best New Artist, in the fourteenth installment of the biggest Ibero-American music awards.
