Bolivia: She threw boiling water at her husband because he said the name of another woman asleep

Bolivian society has been dismayed by this case of family violence. A woman attacked her partner with hot water while he was sleeping.

According to statements by the authorities, the woman, whose identity has not been revealed, heard her partner talk in her sleep and mention a woman's name.

"During the dream the man expressed sentimental content for another woman and that motivated the attack," explained the deputy director of the Special Force to Fight Crime, José Donaire.

The woman said that after hearing what her partner said, she got up, heated water and then poured it over the victim's body.

The 45-year-old man has second-degree burns to one of his arms and chest and was treated at a local hospital.

According to the police, it is not the first time that this woman has carried out violent actions, since on a previous occasion she had sprayed alcohol on her partner with the intention of burning him.

The woman was detained while the investigation is carried out.
